What is Dynamic Island?
Dynamic Island in the Pro models of iPhone 14 is nothing but the pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen.
It houses the device’s front-facing camera array and displays notifications, alerts, and activities without taking you away from what you’re doing, by transforming the dead black space into a rich active area every time you interact with your iPhone.
It is integrated throughout iOS 16 and works with all kinds of apps.
Dynamic Island for Android
The redesign of the notorious iPhone notch that was introduced for the Pro models of iPhone 14 not only attracted Apple and non-Apple users worldwide but also Android developers who always strive to bring exhilarating features to their models.
The recent speculations also showed that the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is also on its move to bring a Dynamic Island-like feature in one of its upcoming smartphones. Realme is also asking users if they want the feature. Google too is working on something similar for Android. But, before they began to roll out Apple’s Dynamic Island-style feature to their Android models, Jawomo – with the dynamicSpot app, made it possible and brought support to all Android devices running 9 and up.
The app is safe and works on center/side hole punch displays as well as Dew Drop and Water Drop notch displays.
I tried it on Samsung M32, POCO M3, and moto g82, and it worked well. But, not exactly as smooth as what Apple offers.
However, one thing that makes it stay out of the competition is, Apple’s Dynamic Island is not customizable, but dynamicSpot is! Yes, the app offers a bunch of customization options for you to manually choose and adjust the position, size, what kind of notifications to display, which apps can activate the popup, etc.
The app is currently in the beta stage but you’ve got early access to use it.

How to Customize dynamicSpot to Look the Same as the Pro Models of iPhone?
You got the dynamicSpot app and is ready to modify the way you use your smartphone. But, if you want a feel of Apple’s Dynamic Island on your Android, do as follows to make it more attractive and responsive.
1. Allow two popups
By default, the dynamicSpot appears as a pill-shaped notch and gives you access to control a single notification. But, when multiple notifications arrived, the island doesn’t display them.
Therefore, to allow the app to display a second pop-up if multiple notifications arrived, launch the app and tap Popup settings. Once you’re in, toggle on the switch next to Allow two pop-ups.
You’ll see a separated bubble next to the pill-shaped notch.
2. Change the dynamicSpot Size and Position
The pill-shaped notch and its position for all the Pro models of iPhone 14 series is the same. But, the Dynamic Island for Android we’re talking about has to settle on/below the side/centered hole punch displays and Dew Drop/Water Drop notch displays.
Therefore, depending on the position and type of your front camera notch, you can adjust the size and position of the dynamicSpot to exactly fit the notch of your smartphone.
To do it, open the app and visit Popup settings. Then select Dimensions and adjust the Offset size X and Y, Offset position Y, and Edge rounding accordingly.
Here’s how they work.
Offset size X – To change the size of the dynamicSpot.
Offset size Y – Adjust the dynamicSpot position to left, right, top, and bottom.
Offset position X – Adjust the dynamicSpot position to top and bottom from the position of Offset size Y.
3. Swipe to clear
To interact with the dynamicSpot and to take total control of it, visit Popup settings and toggle on the switch next to Swipe to clear.
From now onwards, you can simply swipe the expanded popup to the left or right to clear the notification.
4. Auto hide the expanded popup
If a notification arrives, long press the dynamicSpot to enlarge. And to Auto hide the expanded popup, visit Popup settings and toggle on the switch next to When touching outside.
5. Ignore notifications when the screen is off
If you don’t want dynamicSpot to display notifications when the screen is off, select Notifications and toggle on the switch next to Screen off.
Note: After finishing all these customizations, tap the Play icon in the top right corner of the homepage. So that the dynamicSpot will then start working according to the changes you’ve made.
